Collections at Peterborough

10am saw members arriving at the Motorcycle Museum in Kitchener Street. The collection is housed in the hall at the rear of the former Baptist Church which is now the residence. The collection is mostly European bikes and ranged from 50cc up to 1000cc including old and new. (more…)

Shed Day: Meet at Geoff and Evon Polgreen’s home, 17 Caroline St. Moonta, (2nd street south of main street) at 10:00 am for morning cuppa and to view Geoff’s collection of stationary engines, kero boxes and memorabilia.
11:30am. Depart, via Agery, for BYO lunch at Arthurton Town Hall where we will have the use of the supper room as well as the outside eating area. After lunch travel to Brett Colliver’s farm 4km NE of Arthurton, via Kulpara Rd, to see his many projects in various states of un-finished-ness and attempt to start anything that will co-operate.
Morning and afternoon tea provided, however bring a cup/mug, chair and your lunch.

The club’s bi-ennial rally is being held this year at Clare. Details can be viewed by downloading a registration form from the Downloads page.  Late registrations will be accepted up to the day.

Driving an old vehicle, from a woman’s perspective.

It was after a Bay to Birdwood when I needed to drive “Ugly” home from Adelaide. Kip had taken the Harley to be serviced and needed to bring it home. I wasn’t allowed to ride that so Ugly was my lot.

John Birrell will be our speaker and will tell us about his recent trip to Canada and the US.

Election of Officers and other positions … all office holders etc. remain the same as last year except that Peter Costello is now the Assistant Historic Registrar and David Kent has taken over this spot.

Other discussion took place regarding White on Black number plates and how different information is received about ownership and transfer rights. This will be looked into further.

The Bi-ennial Rally is being run in Clare this year and further information and registration form are available for downloading by clicking here  2009-rally

6.00 pm meet at Wilkins Aerodrome to view the Auburn cars.

7.00 club provided tea

8.00 meeting which will include a viewing of the latest ‘Whippet’ film.
